At the lunch for Pat Giles’ 80th, I scored this book in the fundraising raffle.
Dame Roma’s CV is similar to Pat’s in the repetition of the “first woman to” phrase, although it is probably a little more snootier — I guess because she was a lawyer :P

She was the first woman chancellor of an Australian university, the first woman in Australia to be made a Queen’s Counsel and to be appointed a judge in a superior court and the first woman Governor of an Australian State.

The last biog I read was Hilary’s Living History. Laura sent it to me with the inscription “if only she could be half as awesome as us”, but as I read about all her accomplishments before she even left Wellesley, I felt like I’d wasted my best years reading Harry Potter.
But now I am older and wiser and know much better than to get all mopey over not being as good enough as someone else. Biogs are cool and inspirational and educational. I’m looking forward to reading this one.
